The year is now well underway and we are very excited to be able to announce our programme for 2020!

Director Liz Alpine will kick the year off in April with Louise Proudfoot’s “Desperate Huttwives“. This fast paced comedy, set in a quiet Hutt Valley cul-de-sac, throws us through a ranch slider and into a dizzying romp of neighbourhood barbeque drama as lonely housewife Lisa’s addiction to bourbon and coke and streaming American soap operas leads her down a path of destruction.

Following along in late July we then have “Sex, Drugs & Rick ‘n’ Noel” by David Tristram and directed by Claire Fleming. It is the story of Richard Branson. No not the Richard Branson – Sir Richard Branson – entrepreneurial, iconic, philanthropic multi-millionaire boss of the Virgin Corporation. No, this is the story of Richard Branson – redundant foundry worker from the Black Country – whose wife has just left him for another woman. In a desperate attempt to regain his self esteem, Richard applies to do a history course at Birmingham University. There he meets Noel, another ‘mature’ student with a whole different outlook on life. Together – well, together they learn more than either could have imagined possible. About life. About women. About themselves. Not too much about history, though.

Finally in November, Gennie Barton will be directing “The Motor Camp” by Dave Armstrong based on a story by Danny Mulheron. Two couples, two caravans, two teenagers arrive at a motor camp and have to park next to each other. As both families try to enjoy their holiday and keep their hormonal teenagers apart, a hilarious series of events unfolds. The Motor Camp is a glorious celebration of our annual Kiwi camping rituals.

As always we’ll bring you more information about each of our shows closer to the time. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of summer & prepare yourself for another year’s worth of great entertainment!
